Public Sector

Our Public Sector Programs offer no-cost energy efficiency support to all public agencies that are served by Southern California Edison or Southern California Gas Company in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties including cities, school districts, water districts, special districts, and tribes. Recognizing that each public agency faces unique barriers to implementing energy projects, I-REN provides customized support including:

  • Providing local governments with support and resources to develop and implement their strategic energy plans and energy efficiency projects
  • Helping local governments to afford and finance a range of energy efficiency upgrades  
  • Establishing one-on-one support for local governments’ energy efficiency  projects
  • Developing or enhancing strategic energy plans to connect local government goals related to climate, resilience, and economic development to energy efficiency programs and adoption

I-REN territoryEligibility

Who is eligible for I-REN Public Sector services and support? Public agencies in the I-REN territory (San Bernardino and Riverside Counties) are eligible to receive I-REN’s no-cost services and offerings.

  • Cities
  • Counties
  • Special districts
  • K-12 school districts
  • Tribes
  • Water/wastewater agencies/districts
  • Other public agencies

All facilities and infrastructures with an electric and/or natural gas account serviced by SCE and SCG that lists an eligible public agency as the customer on record within the program geographic territory are eligible for I-REN services.
